Another day, another hearty breakfast to start off. Soon after, we booked a cab to visit My Son Sanctuary. The weather was perfect—thanks to the previous day’s rain, the skies were overcast, saving us from the usual scorching sun. Upon reaching, we began exploring the site, which housed ancient Hindu temples, many of them partially ruined. Most structures were built entirely of bricks, standing as remnants of a once-glorious era. It didn’t take us long to cover the area, as there wasn’t much to see beyond the ruins—just under an hour, and we were done.

From there, we got back into the cab and headed to Da Nang. I had my flight in the evening, while my friends were staying in Vietnam for a few more days. After parting ways with them, I had plans to visit the Lady Buddha statue and the Dragon Bridge, but the weather had other ideas. A light drizzle soon turned into a heavy downpour, forcing me to take shelter in a beachfront café. Since I had time to spare, I ordered some food and ended up sitting there for over two hours, waiting for the rain to ease. From my seat, I could see the Lady Buddha statue in the distance, so I decided to skip visiting it in person. The Dragon Bridge was on the way to the airport anyway, so I’d get to see it before leaving.

Once the rain slowed back to a drizzle, I prepared to leave, only to realize the café only accepted cash—and I didn’t have any on me. That meant a quick walk to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash before settling the bill. After paying, I left my bag at the café and took a short, peaceful stroll along the beach for about half an hour. Then, I booked a cab and headed to Da Nang Airport. And yes, I did get to see the Dragon Bridge! The cab took a parallel bridge, giving me a full view of the iconic structure.

At the airport, I had some time to kill, so I grabbed a coffee before boarding my flight to Ho Chi Minh City. From there, I had my connecting flight back to India. I had planned to claim a VAT refund for my iPhone purchase, but unfortunately, they required an additional VAT bill/document that I hadn’t collected from the store. This finally explained why the store in charge had insisted on opening the phone when I bought it. Lesson learned!

Soon after, I boarded my flight back to India, marking the end of an unforgettable week-long trip to Vietnam.
